Claremore’s Kortlynn Sansom – Cheer Spotlight – Presented by RibCrib

Claremore cheerleader Kortlynn Sansom is all about leadership and dedication.

“I lead others with a positive attitude,” Sansom said. “I dedicate my time to my athletics and academics by attending dual practices, weight lifting, making sure I’m being a team player and by doing my school work. I also make sure I’m coachable/teachable, each day.

Sansom went into the school year wanting to shine in tumbling. She feels she’s improved the most as a flyer.

“I would love to excel in my tumbling and become better,” she said. “As a team, I would love for our relationship/bond to become stronger and for us girls to give it our all, everyday. “I think the thing that I’ve improved on the most, is my position as a flyer. This has been my growth year. I’ve improved the most on being the best I can be, academically and as an athlete.”

Sansom’s most memorable moment in cheering came recently.

“Last Friday at the homecoming football game. Before the second quarter was over, the lights went out and we all got our cellphones out, turned on flashlights and all started dancing and singing. We had fun,” she said.

Her coaches have her biggest influencers.

“That would be all of my coaches that have coached me throughout my Cheer Year- starting in CYFA to Varsity,” Sansom said. “They’ve all pushed me to be the best that I can be. Michelle, Sara & Casey.”

After high school, Sansom would like to attend college and become a Sports Medicine, PA.

After college, she says she would love to work with a NFL team and hopefully somewhere in there, she will get married and have a family.
