Growing up on a farm, Aubrey Pilgrim has lived the FFA lifestyle since she was born. Essentially Pilgrim has been involved in FFA for several years and when the opportunity came to make it official, she joined.
“I first joined FFA when I was five and have been involved ever since. I live on a farm, and I guess it just happened naturally,” said Pilgrim.
Pilgrim said there are many reasons why she loves being a member of the chapter at Claremore High School.
“The environment, you’re always working with others to make the future of agriculture better. I stopped showing last year but have been involved in shop since the beginning of this year. I used to show pigs, and goats,” said Pilgrim.
FFA is not her only activity. Pilgrim is involved in athletics and plays softball for the Lady Zebras.
“I’m in the Young Republicans Club, Jesus Club, Christian Club, Bio-med Club, and I play softball and am a student athletic trainer,” said Pilgrim.
As her junior year comes to an end, Pilgrim said she loves being around her teammates.
“My teammates are very encouraging, and we love to be together,” said Pilgrim.
Pilgrim is making plans for her future and said her father has been a big influence in helping with those decisions.
“My dad, he’s always been the most hardworking person I know and always teaching me to work hard towards my goal. I’m a junior and I plan to become a physical therapist assistant,” said Pilgrim.
She offers this advice to anyone interested in FFA.
“Do it. It’s genuinely so fun,” said Pilgrim.
