Claremore’s Aubrey Pilgrim – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Rib Crib

Claremore junior Aubrey Pilgrim is taking full advantage of her opportunities on the softball field.
Pilgrim, a Student Athlete of the Week award winner, has contributed for Lady Zebras since her freshman year and through Sept. 7 was hitting .464 and had an on-base percentage of .545.
“I want to help my team be successful and grow more confidence in myself as a player,” Pilgrim said. “I feel like I’ve improved my hitting this season.”

“Aubrey has contributed as a freshman and sophomore for the Lady Zebras, both in the outfield and on the base paths,” Claremore head coach Derek Short said. “She is extremely busy with her involvement in softball, FFA, and travel ball. Aubrey is a great competitor and works hard.”
Pilgrim, who vividly remembers her experience as a freshman when Claremore played in a regional tournament, feels she has a multitude of strengths.
“Communication, good arm, speed, and knowledge of the game. My throwing accuracy and hitting have improved over the last two years,” she said.
Playing college softball and becoming a physical therapist assistant are two future goals for Pilgrim, who says her dad is her biggest inspiration. “He is always super encouraging and wants me to better myself as a player,” she said.
