VYPE: What has baseball taught you that you use in daily life?
Marcos Sallee: Baseball has taught me everything happens for a reason and to be patient for your opportunities. When the time is right it will happen.
VYPE: What position do you play and what do you like most about it?
MS: I’m a pitcher and shortstop. My favorite part of pitching is being able to control the game. Striking people out is the greatest feeling in all sports.
VYPE: What makes you passionate about baseball?
MS: I’ve loved baseball ever since I was really young. Since I’ve started high school, my only goal was to win state. This year is our best team, and we have a very good shot at it.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
MS: My dad. He has always been the best father and the best role model growing up. I couldn’t ask for anyone better. My dad tells me I can do anything I want; I just have to put everything into it.
VYPE: What teammate left the biggest impression and why?
MS: My buddy Brazen. He was a senior when I was a sophomore and has always pushed me to do better and told me to keep working and I can do anything.
VYPE: How did you first get into playing your sport?
MS: At my first T-ball practice I cried walking in, and my mom said if you don’t go right now you will never play baseball so I’m thankful she made me go.
VYPE: What is your best accomplishment of playing?
MS: Being able to play D1 baseball at the next level. I am going to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock next year.
VYPE: What is something special you would like to share about yourself?
MS: Something special about me is I’m unreal in Fortnite.
VYPE: Here is your chance to thank anyone you wish.
MS: I’d like to thank God for giving me such good opportunities and people around me I’d also thank coach Gelnar and our coach staff at Claremore and every coach that has helped me get here.
