Q&A with Sequoyah Claremore’s Lexis Breshears – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Red Crown Credit Union of Sequoyah

VYPE: Lexis, is softball the only sport you play at Sequoyah Claremore HS? 

Lexis Breshears: I play basketball and run track, but my main priority is softball.

VYPE: When did you start playing softball and when did you know this was the sport for you? 

LB: I started playing softball in kindergarten and the second I stepped on the field for the first time I fell in love with it and knew that this was the sport I wanted to play.

VYPE: What are some positives you see from the team this year? 

LB: Some positives that I see is our attitude and effort especially when dealing with all the adversity we have faced this season.

VYPE: What you do love most about your teammates? 

LB: My teammates always have my back and will always be there for me no matter what happens if I make an error,they talk me up and tell me I got the next one.
 

VYPE: We heard you have a strong work ethic, where does that come from? 

LB: My work ethic comes from my dad he always pushes me past my limits so I can be the best that I can be.

VYPE: What makes Sequoyah a great school for student-athletes? 

LB: Sequoyah has coaches that care about our personal development on and off the field.

VYPE: Who has made a big impact in your life, on or off the field? 

LB: My dad has made the biggest impact in my life because he is always there for me whenever I need him.

VYPE: How do you like to spend your downtime? 

LB: I enjoy spending my downtime playing with my little brothers, hanging with my friends and I love to go on late night drives with them.

VYPE: What are your plans for life after high school? 

LB: After high school I want to go play college softball and become an ultrasound tech or a labor and delivery nurse.
