VYPE: How did your season turn out and what were your goals?
Lydia: My season was AMAZING!! I had loads of fun this year with all of the girls. My goal this season was to better myself in the sport and to become more confident in myself.
VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?
Lydia: The most fun I had was when I went to Colorado with my family. I love reading and the town we went to had so many food, bookstores, and cafes and the mountains were beautiful.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Lydia: Mrs. Holmes – my 7th grade English teacher. She was excellent at seeing what her students needed and at explaining what students didn’t understand. She came up with different ways to learn the same thing to make learning in her class interesting. She was really fun.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
Lydia: It’s hard to pick just one so here are my top two. When the sound system wasn’t working and all of our varsity sang the national anthem. And when one of our players won a goldfish and took it with us to our game for our mascot. Long Live Pinkie!!!
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Lydia: Jadin White. She has been playing since I started. I can’t imagine a season without her. She is so funny and brings a smile to everyone’s faces. With her sporadic dance parties and jokes with the coach, she really made this season special.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Lydia: the closeness of the girls and how we just admire each other so much. I love being around them.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Lydia: I would go to Greece. I love the sea and the different foods( especially the desserts) , and the architecture and the stories there. I would take my parents and my best friends. I would take my parents to pay them back for loving me so much and supporting me in all of my endeavors and adventures. I know they love me unconditionally and I love them more than I could ever put into words. For my best friends, they give me the best belly laughs and just make the rest of the experience better. I love them so much.
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing volleyball?
Lydia: I first had my run with volleyball in 6th grade pe. The coach was looking at starting a 6th grade volleyball league and just told me to show up to the gym after school. I did show up and BAM!! I played volleyball.
VYPE: Here is your chance to say hello, goodbye or thank you to anyone you wish.
Lydia: I wish to say thank you to my parents for supporting me so much. I love you more!! My best friends for having to hear me praddle about how I can’;t get something right and always reassuring me that I can do it. To coach Kersey for teaching me so much this season and being so much fun. I wish to say thank you to Coach Tramel, who without her, I would have never even picked up a volleyball. Thank you. To my little brother baron , who always plays with me in the backyard even when I tell him he is doing EVERYTHING wrong. Love you tiny!!
