SEQUOYAH CLAREMORE LADY EAGLES

Coach: LEE OTT

2024-25 Record: 12-17

OUTLOOK

Despite being a young team, the Lady Eagles are poised for a solid season under head coach Lee Ott. Ott enters his fourth season at the helm and is looking forward to seeing what this team can do with another year of experience under their belts.

“We’re young, no seniors and our two juniors just recently received their license. Return our leading scorer from an Area Tournament team, Lanie Thompson. We have some skilled guards that can shoot it in the sophomore and freshman classes,” coach Ott said.

Lanie Thompson (5-10, Jr.) averaged 10.8 points and shot 38% from three-point land. Defensively Thompson managed 40 steals, 77 deflections and 110 rebounds. Thompson loves to spend extra time in the gym and is poised for another big season. Lexis Breshears (5-8, Jr.) is a power forward who has big numbers as well. Breshears has 196 rebounds, 61 steals and 66 deflections to her credit. Both players are ready to lead this team and push this group to the next level.

Laylie Schiesel (5-7, So.) is a guard who made 31 three-pointers last season as a freshman. Her shooting with the post play of Peyton Breshears (5-11, So.) can only help this team as coach Ott shuffles the pieces of the puzzle to find the best lineup. Also look for Emmyn Gibson (5-8, So.) at guard who joins the team and is working hard to find minutes on the floor.

Other players to watch include Kristen Holt (5-6, Fr.), Abi McGee (5-4, Fr.), Carly Bowman (5-7, Fr.), Bryn Ratliff (5-9, Fr.), Paisley Crittenden (5-9, Fr.), Presly Roat (5-7, Fr.), Sarah Etalea (5-8, Fr.) and Ella Henson (5-0, Fr.).
