VYPE: Lizzie, what position are you playing and what is the toughest thing to master about that position?
Lizzie Garza: I mainly play outside mid, and sometimes defense. The hardest thing about both of these positions is the mental endurance. Not letting yourself get tired and lazy.
VYPE: What is the strength of your game and what are you working to improve?
LG: My speed is my strength on the field, what I need to work on is my accuracy with my left foot.
VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and who keeps everyone laughing?
LG: The most vocal teammate is Marin Fink, the teammate who keeps everyone laughing is Addie Russell.
VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates at VHS?
LG: The thing I love most about my teammates is how supportive everyone is. They are there to build you up and support you.
VYPE: Who inspires you?
LG: Someone who inspires is my dad. He has been there throughout my whole soccer career and is someone I look up to.
VYPE: Tell us your favorite moment on the pitch?
LG: My favorite soccer moment was freshman year when we won our game making it to playoffs and the whole team ran on the field and started celebrating and hugging.
VYPE: What has athletics taught you that you can use throughout life?
LG: Athletics has taught me teamwork and discipline. It has taught me to work with other people sharing responsibilities, it has also taught me self-discipline working to get better.
VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?
LG: My favorite subject is school is English, and my favorite teacher was Mrs. Sands.
VYPE: What other clubs or groups do you belong to at VHS?
LG: Another group at school I do is National Honor Society.
VYPE: How do you enjoy spending your free time?
LG: In my free time I love having out with my friends and family.
