Claremore’s Morgan Burgess – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Front Porch Bakery

Claremore High School senior Morgan Burgess fell in love with cheer when she was in the
first grade.
“The love, passion, and the drive that I have for cheer is something that I will always
cherish. I enjoy the Claremore cheer team is the support the most, it is unmatched. On and
off the mat, we make sure that we are there for each other,” said Burgess.
Entering her final year Burgess said the squad is excited for football season and making
2023-24 a great year.
“This year has kicked off a great start for Claremore cheer. We are so positive, energetic,
and ready to put the work in. I am most excited about football season and the atmosphere
around it,” said Burgess.

Away from cheer, Burgess is a member of the Native American Club and said she has finally
found her favorite subject.
“My favorite subject in school is history, I love learning interesting facts. My favorite
teacher is Miss Nicks. She has taught me to always stand up for myself and to not worry
about what other people think. I have always embraced that.” Said Burgess. “Being a
student-athlete in Claremore gives you many opportunities for growth. The lifelong
friendships, support of other athletics, and being pushed to be the most authentic version
of yourself.”
The senior said she is looking forward to attending college at Oklahoma State University
where she hopes to major in business. But before she leaves Claremore, Burgess said she
wants future classes to remember the class of 2024.
“I want my class to be remembered by the hard work and positive spirit we put in for our
teams,” said Burgess.
