VYPE: Jake, what grade did you start competing in track and what events are you participating in this season?
Gilbreath: I have run track since the 5th grade. I run both the 110-hurdles and 300-hurdles. I also participate in discus.
VYPE: What do you love most about being a student-athlete at Sequoyah Claremore?
Gilbreath: Being able to participate in many activities.
VYPE: Do you play any other sports for the Eagles?
Gilbreath: Yes, football.
VYPE: Tell me about your teammates. Who is the toughest, who is the most serious and who is the funniest teammate?
Gilbreath: Sonny Proctor is definitely the toughest, my brother Landon Gilbreath is the one who takes everything serious,and I release all the track nerves by being myself which’s is being funny.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life?
Gilbreath: My parents and grandparents.
VYPE: Who is your favorite athlete?
Gilbreath: Tim Tebow.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
Gilbreath: I want to go to the University of Central Oklahoma and get my degree in Funeral Directing and Grievance Counseling.
VYPE: When you’re not running track or working on schoolwork, what are you doing?
Gilbreath: Working with livestock, auctioneering, water skiing, hunting, and fishing.

Gilbreath: Landon Gilbreath, and Sonny Proctor.
